Mud pump control complex

The mud pump control complex (MP CC) is designed for independent separate control of the performance of mud pumps as part of the electrical equipment of the drilling rig.

MP CC allows soft start, speed control and stop of electric motors with U = 3, 6, or 10 kV when operating from high-voltage frequency converters, as well as start and stop electric motors directly from the network. MP CC can be operated in the harsh field conditions of oil fields.

The implementation of MP CC will provide:
- prompt and accurate change in the supply of drilling mud;
- uninterrupted operation of the equipment;
- reliability of operation and extension of the service life of electric motors, mud pumps and other mechanisms;
- reducing the accident rate of equipment and reducing the cost of repairs and maintenance, as well as reducing emergency production downtime.

In addition, MP CC has a number of other positive differences from similar offers in the Russian market.

To ensure independent separate control of the performance of drilling pumps, the complex used two HVFCA, each of which is located in a separate mobile building.
Independently of each other, each HVFCA performs frequency control of the rotation frequency of the corresponding asynchronous electric motor, which in turn provides the pump drive.

The complex allows a smooth start, speed control and stopping of electric motors when operating from HVFCA.

In the event of the HVFCA malfunction, MP CC allows for a soft start and stop of one of the electric motors from the soft starter.

Also, with sufficient power of 6kV electrical network, MP CC allows starting of each electric motor directly from the 6 kV network.

Two remote controls are connected to each ML: - driller's remote control (DRC); - driller assistant's remote control ADRC.

The complex is controlled from the driller’s remote control and from the driller assistant's remote control.

The main elements of the MP CC:
- High-voltage frequency converter;
- High-voltage switching equipment;
- Group control station;
- Mobile building.
