High-voltage frequency converters  of version UHL1


HVFC of climatic version UHL1 is designed for frequency starting and speed control of asynchronous and synchronous electric motors with power from 250 kW to 2000 kW with nominal voltage 6 kV and power from 400 kW to 800 kW with nominal voltage 10 kV.

HVFC provides the possibility of its operation in the open air according to GOST 15150-69 (industrial atmosphere) with a non-explosive environment, that does not contain gases, fumes, chemical deposits, conductive dust in concentrations that reduce the parameters to unacceptable limits.

Operation temperature is from minus 60 °C to plus 40 °C.

- The permissible concentration of dust is not more than 0.2 mg/m3.
- Group of mechanical performance of HVFC is M13 according to GOST 17516.1-90.
- Resistance of HVFC to seismic effects is 6 points on the MSK-64 scale.
- HVFC protection degree is IP54 according to GOST 14254-96

- The composition of HVFC of the climatic version UHL1 includes:
-     HVFC of climatic version UHL4;
-     casing;
-     auxiliary systems:
a)     heating and ventilation system;
b)     fire protection and security system;
c)     lighting system.
-     control and auxiliary power cabinet (CAPC).

Optionally, the product can be equipped with the following equipment:
-     cabinet for GCS (group control station) group control (GCS functions are determined by the customer);
-     high-voltage switching cabinets (SESAC (single-end service assembled chamber) cells);
-     I/O cabinet.

HVFC converts three-phase AC power supply with voltage of 3, 6, 10 kV with constant frequency and voltage parameters into three-phase voltage with variable frequency and voltage parameters according to the law of frequency control U/f = const.

Additional equipment:

In the upper part of the HVFC, a system of supply and exhaust ventilation is installed, which ensures that the temperature is maintained at no lower than 20 °C at an external temperature of minus 60 °C, regardless of the presence and operating modes of the installed equipment.
The ventilation system with adjustable recirculation of the exhaust flow according to the three-valve scheme consists of intake, exhaust and recirculation air valves, as well as intake axial fan, inlet reclaiming filter of cleaning class EU3, drop catcher, drainage system with heating, ventilation control board based on Siemens controller, temperature and pressure sensors.

An inflow and an exhaust valves have a climatic version UHL.1 and equipped with proportional drives with a return spring and the possibility of manual control when the control signal or supply voltage is lost. Electrical enclosures for the inflow and exhaust valve actuators are provided. Outside the valves are closed ventilation grilles.

The design of the ventilation system also includes a duct that is located in the upper
part of the HVFC equipment and ventilation chamber in the end of the HVFC
divided into exhaust compartment and mixing chamber. All compartments have hatches for
staff access during routine maintenance and interior lighting.

The operation of the high-voltage frequency converter ensures soft start and control of engine speed in accordance with the technological task, taking into account feedback from the technological parameter sensor, stopping the unit in accordance with a predetermined algorithm from the operator’s console, directly from the unit (from the remote control) or from the APCS control panel.

The operation of the high-voltage frequency converter ensures soft start and control of engine speed in accordance with the technological task, taking into account feedback from the technological parameter sensor, stopping the unit in accordance with a predetermined algorithm from the operator’s console, directly from the unit (from the remote control) or from the APCS control panel, as well as automatic switching of the engine power from the network in case of emergency shutdown of HVFCA or its improper work.

Cascade control scheme of the n-th number of motors by means of a single high-voltage frequency converter, with the possibility of automatic switching of the motor to the nominal mode of operation for direct power supply from the mains and output of a part of the motors according to the established algorithm to the standby mode.

The group control station (GCS) provides an algorithm for correctly switching on the engines and bringing one of the engines to standby mode.
The operation of the HVFCA provides a smooth start-up and control of the engine speed in accordance with the technological task of the GCS.
GCS ensures the maintenance of the regulated parameter in accordance with the technological task and taking into account the feedback from the selected sensor of the technological parameter.
